HECHT 6422 is a robust hydraulic log splitter powered by a branded Briggs & Stratton XR950 engine with a displacement of 208 cm³. It is placed on a chassis with a tow bar for connection to a 50 mm ball of a towing device. This allows it to be attached, for example, behind ATVs, tractors, and other vehicles equipped with a suitable towing device. The wheels are fitted with 16" (4.8 x 8) tires. The maximum speed is 75 km/h. The weight is 246 kg. The log splitter does not have certification for towing on public roads.

The maximum pressure of the hydraulic oil is 25 Mpa, the hydraulic cylinder generates a splitting pressure of 22 tons. This is more than enough force to split even the toughest logs. The maximum log length is 635 mm. The log splitter is firmly equipped with a 20 cm wide splitting wedge. Optionally, it can also be equipped with a cross wedge, which is included in the machine delivery. The wedge movement cycle is 15 seconds.

The log splitter can be used in both horizontal and vertical positions. To switch, simply release the safety lock on the chassis and rotate it vertically on the caps. However, it is necessary to ensure that it stands on a flat and solid base. Thanks to the suspension located near the pivot point between both positions, it can be easily handled even by an average physically fit person. The machine is equipped with safety controls using a pair of levers. To start the wedge movement, both levers must be pulled simultaneously. This prevents inexperienced operators from accidentally putting their hand under the moving wedge.

The hydraulic oil tank, cleverly hidden in the chassis frame, can hold 14.5 liters of oil.
